Dental Treatment Under General Anaesthesia

With general anaesthesia, the patient is prepared for the operation by being put into a state of full sleep through intravenous or gaseous administration. Some children have a phobia of dentists and it is very difficult to put them in the dentist’s chair. In that case, general anaesthesia may be necessary to perform the treatment without stressing the family and the child.

The examination of the child to undergo general anaesthesia is done 1 day before by the anaesthetist. It is possible to undergo general anaesthesia at any age from 1 year of age, when the first teeth appear in children, without any problems.

Following a general anaesthetic, patients can resume their normal lives after being under observation for 1-2 hours.
